**Boxley Materials Company Customer Service Representative / Scale Operator**

Location: Martinsville, VA or Blue Ridge, VA area | Reports to: Sales Center Manager | Classification:Full-Time / Non-Exempt

***Day travel could be required 10-12 times per month**

**POSITION DESCRIPTION**

This position is an integral part of our aggregate sales and customer support team, reporting to our Sales Center Manager. We are seeking a candidate to join our team and mission to deliver quality on every project, backed by our commitment to safety, service and reliability. Its The Boxley Way. This team member is responsible for serving customers by providing production information and product quotes both verbal and written, as well as scheduling accurate on-time deliveries. Serving customers on-site by operating truck weigh scales and processing paperwork. This position also works with the outside sales team to ensure customer needs are met and both internal and external customer experiences are superior.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Answers telephones, takes orders, delivers messages, handles customer issues and concerns, or refers them to the correct person

* Performs customer service responsibilities

* Tracks number of orders received and delivered, as well as keeps count of trucks for requested reports

* Responsible for balancing tickets with daily cash receipts, receives payments from customer charge accounts, and able to prepare bank deposits

* Works with Sales Center *Manager and Weigh person, truckers and customers in scheduling accurate, on-time aggregate deliveries

* Weigh person duties (requires the person to be bonded in Virginia)

* Prepare quotations for standard products as required.

* Completes necessary daily, weekly, monthly and annual sales reports

* Works with outside sales to deliver sold product accurately and timely

* Provides slight administrative support for Sales such as preparing scoreboard information for teams, substitutes for other personnel when necessary which may require travel to other Boxley locations.

* Perform other duties as required to maintain an overall smooth and efficient office operation or as requested from time to time by the Sales Center Manager.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

* High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

* Two-year degree in business related field, preferred.

* 1 to 3 years of work experience, preferably in a customer service related role.

* Strong Mathematical skills

* Proficient computer navigation skills, with the ability to learn new systems.

* Efficient written and oral communication skills, English required.

* Pre-employment physical and drug screening standards.

* Ability to meet and maintain Motor Vehicle Record requirements based on company guidelines.
