Job description

BASIC FUNCTION:

Coordinates assigned activities and functions of the GHUCCTS to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, and funding limitations.

SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:

Responsible for providing limited supervision students as applicable that work with the program. Formally plans, assigns, directs, and coordinates the work of these functions. Typically, responsible for performing some non-supervisory duties in addition to supervisory responsibilities.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Internal contacts include PI of GHUCCTS, center directors' administrators, faculty and staff. External contacts include vendors, contractors, visitors, collaborating institutions/investigators, study sponsors.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Responsible for coordinating program services and facilitating investigators seeking to gain access to GHUCCTS resources.
  • Coordinates all activities of the pilot program including responding to potential applicant inquiries, receiving applications and reviewing them for adherence to program requirements, coordinating the fiscal management of projects, and managing progress reporting and study closure.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of pilot studies start-up, conduct, and close-out activities.
  • Develop budget and expense review strategy for pilot program communicate with PI and Study Teams at Howard, Georgetown, MedStar and the DCVA as applicable; regularly review budget/expenses with project team.
  • Assist the administrative director and assistant nurse manager in administrative and fiscal management of the clinical research unit.
  • Will work with/supervise with CRU assistant in day to day needs of the CRU.
  • Ensure strong relationship management with Internal and external stakeholders through clear communications, decisive escalation of issues and coordination with administrative director, PI and other program leadership.
  • Identify needed program processes and work with leadership to oversee development of processes to streamline center activities.
  • Serve as primary contact for GHUCCTS related multisite studies ensure rapid turnaround of the contract for study implementation and to develop, support, and improve processes regarding contract negotiation and execution.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline and 1-3 years of related work experience. Additional education or related experience may substitute for required education.
