Warehouse Associate

Job description

Details:

* Unloads materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately report material received.
* Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports. Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry.
* Issue shipping instructions and provide routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated where needed
* Schedule or monitor air or surface pickup, delivery, or distribution of products or materials.
* Moves material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
* Supplies materials to fabrication and stages material for assembly and sub-assembly.
* Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
* Assists with the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.
* Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
* Notifies and/or delivers incoming product to end user.
* Completes daily receiving entries in computer system. Distributes to purchasing office for filing.
* Manages all outbound shipments, including preparation of sequentially numbered paper work in software system, management of packaging materials inventories, packaging of product to be shipped, and arrangement of transportation services.
* Use UPS software effectively and create summary reports on request.
* Performs general housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas; includes hands-on cleaning and maintenance along with organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other department and outside waste disposal vendor.
* Distributes documentation, including transfer of all original documents, to purchasing supervisor for distribution.
* Packs tools and other materials in preparation for shipping.
* Operates forklift, cherry picker, and other common warehouse tools in a safe manner.
* All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Details:

* Minimum of a high school education or equivalent
* 2+ years of related Warehouse experience.
* Forklift experience
* Some knowledge of domestic and international shipping.
* Some knowledge of shipping rules and regulations.
* Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, use simple math, and computer literate.
* Must be willing to learn to operate forklift & cherry picker and become efficient in doing so.
