We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant Paralegal to strengthen our legal team. The clients are experiencing emotionally difficult periods, and our mission is to improve their lives. The Legal Assistant Paralegal will interact with and build relationships with clients, support our attorneys with legal research, draft memos, pleadings, motions, and orders, and prepare for hearings and trials. This role involves both administrative duties, such as drafting, case management, and scheduling, and interpersonal duties to assist the firm in delivering high-quality service to clients.

Responsibilities

Draft legal documents using our templates and create initial drafts.
Manage and update case management systems, maintain calendars, and organize documentation.
Interact with clients, courts, and administrative agencies, serving as a primary point of contact.
Prepare legal correspondence, finalize documents, and ensure materials are ready for meetings and court appearances.
Perform time and billing entries, manage new and existing client files, and assist with trial preparations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in family law, with a strong ability to handle complex cases.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and maintain strict deadlines.
High empathy and understanding, providing support and reassurance to clients in distress.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a growth mindset and solution-oriented approach.
Experience in supporting attorneys during trial preparation, including managing discovery shells, redacting documents, cleaning up case files, and assisting with trial binders.
A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of the role.
Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently and adapting to the dynamic needs of a legal practice.
Good sense of humor and love for animals are a plus.
