Job description

NVR is opening a new Manufacturing Plant in Lavonia, Georgia and we are seeking highly motivated, positive, results-oriented individuals to join our team.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the start-up of our newest facility.It will be a unique experienceto help set the direction of the facility and have a visible and lasting impact on the business.

We are seeking experienced NVR employees to relocate to the Georgia plant.Your NVR experience will be critical in establishing operations, achieving results, and servicing Homebuilding operations in a timely manner.The start-up team will receive training, development plans, and support from experts at our established plants.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Production Supervisor, you will have direct responsibility for designated plant production department(s), which encompasses leading and driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Process Improvement and employee development.Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with hourly production employees.This includes building strong, interactive teams, fostering employee engagement, mentoring through listening, coaching and performance reviews, training and onboarding and reducing employee turnover to achieve plant objectives.
  • Manage daily production and schedule requirements for assigned departments and ensure a consistent flow of work through the department.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and/or habits of area employees, through identification and correction of any safety concerns/issues, safety training, conducting safety audits of the area, and conducting accident investigations for all accidents in area of responsibility.
  • Ensure assigned department achieves quality goals to meet NVR's Brand Promise.Review quality standards and processes regularly and make recommendations on improvements.
  • Support plant leadership with recommendations of improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, quality standards, efficiencies, and safety/working conditions.
  • Partner with plant Maintenance department to ensure production areas are functioning at a high level and minimize downtime.
  • Work with plant support operations, such as Materials, Scheduling and Logistics, to ensure a balanced schedule and consistent flow of material into assigned production area.
  • Determine appropriate staffing needs of the department, manage hourly attendance policy, and ensure accuracy of timekeeping and attendance system.
  • Make recommendations and support plant management in hiring, disciplinary, and termination decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution, and conduct employee investigations, as needed.

Qualifications
  • Experience leading in an NVR manufacturing environment
  • 5years of progressive leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities
  • High energy and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands
  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills
  • Reliability and initiative to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Ability to travel to other plants and locations, as needed
