**Duties**

** Summary**

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administrator (DEA), Office of Training.

This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Office of Training. Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, which provide continuity and efficiency of administrative office operations and procedures.

**Responsibilities**

As a Administrative Support Specialistyour typical work assignments may include:

+ Provides assistance to a program area which may include finance, human resources, model workplace, scheduling or other core functional area.

+ Assists the office or program by establishing and maintaining filing systems/logs of all incoming and outgoing correspondence, TDY vouchers, and travel vouchers.

+ Manages and utilizes various automated information/data systems to collect data, gather information, prepare reports, and perform daily tasks.

+ Responsible for maintaining an updated list of organizational points of contacts within the organization with delegated roles and responsibilities.

+ Coordinates the in/out processing of all personnel; ensures compliance with established regulations and HQ policies and procedures. **Travel Required**

**Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.**

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent GS0301-05 for the GS-07; GS-07 for the GS-09*. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes:*

**GS-07:**

1.) Assisting with administrative and operational issues such as finance, human resources, model workplace, scheduling and other core functional areas

2.) Establishing logs

3.) Assisting with travel orders for an organization

4.) Entering data and gathering information

5.) Preparing reports on information gathered

**OR**

Have one (1) year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement

**OR**

A combination of both, specialized experience and education.

**GS-09:**

1.) Providing support related to administrative and operational issues such as finance, human resources, model workplace, scheduling and other core functional areas

2.) Maintaining logs

3.) Overseeing the travel program for an organization

4.) Maintaining and utilizing various automated systems

5.) Monitoring and executing the budget for an organization

6.) Serving as a central point of contact for an organization

**OR**

Have a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related

**OR**

Have a combination of both, experience and education.

**Time-In-Grade Requirement**: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
