Manufacturing Engineer

Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to support products and improve manufacturing operations. This includes tuning, aligning circuits, troubleshooting RF products, electronic assemblies, equipment, and process issues, as well as performing acceptance testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Experience with RF circuitry (amplifiers, mixers, integrated microwave assemblies) down to the component level. Skilled using O-scopes, Signal Generators and Network Analyzers.
  • Inspect products and processes for flaws and identifies areas of improvement.
  • Assist in product design, development, and production.
  • Sets up, calibrates, and de-bug RF test set ups.
  • Assist with test fixture development and documentation.
  • Perform hand soldering down to 0402 size components, Obtain IPC Certification in time
  • Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming products.
  • Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS or Associate Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (optional if 5+ years of RF technician experience).
  • 5 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment/equivalent military experience is a plus.
  • Skilled at using office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as required.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within electronic assembly field.
  • Highly skilled using common hand tools and internal specialized tooling and test fixtures.
  • Ability to translate use of tooling to design concept and developing fixture design.
  • Experienced in use of various test instruments, with emphasis on RF testing including use of network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, power supplies, DVMs.
  • Well-versed in utilizing all document forms: assembly, ATP, BOM, schematics.
  • Understand product specifications and applications.
  • Skilled using LabVIEW, Python, C#
