Job Description: Our client is seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Planning and Development to join their team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Planning and Development, the AVP will lead strategic initiatives aimed at acquiring, developing, and rehabilitating affordable housing properties. This is a pivotal role for a dynamic professional passionate about driving positive change.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects related to multifamily real estate acquisition, including financial modeling and partnership selection.
  • Oversee the development and rehabilitation of affordable housing properties, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in strategic planning for the Planning & Development office, aligning initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Provide analysis on public policy issues affecting affordable housing initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor assigned employees, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Seven or more years of experience in senior management positions within affordable housing or real estate development.
  • Strong understanding of LIHTC program requirements, HUD affordable housing programs, and regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and project evaluation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
