**The Team**

Our Auto Lending team is growing to support the product optimization, expansion, and success of the Auto Retail Lending product that launched in late 2021. We are an analytical and outgoing team focused on building the best car buying and financing experience for consumers at the car dealership. Our team is driven to expand access to effortless credit for borrowers based on true risk in the automotive industry, and we are looking for an experienced business generalist / project manager (preferably with auto financing experience) that can help us achieve our ambitious goals. While Upstart has been successful to date in Personal Lending and making strides into Auto Refinance, we are building our Auto Retail Lending business and operating almost like a startup within a larger company.

As the Auto Retail Lending Project Manager at Upstart, you will have an opportunity to help take a newer business line from 0 to 1, then 1 to 100. You will be interfacing with cross-functional teams to bring our product vision to life and help expand Upstarts offering to dealerships & borrowers across the nation.

***Position Location -*** This role is available in the following locations: Remote, USA

***Time Zone Requirements -*** This team operates on the East/West Coast time zones; depending on where you are located, we schedule our meetings to respectfully accommodate multiple time zones

***Travel Requirements -*** This team has regular onsite collaboration sessions. These can occur 2-4 days per Quarter; since our team is spread out across the country, these could take place in San Mateo, Columbus, or Austin. Sometimes we travel to meet with dealership partners for onsite product implementation. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses.

**How youll make an impact:**

* Lead projects large and small related to product scoping and launches, program scaling, vendor procurement, and other areas aimed at growing Upstarts Auto Retail Lending business. Maintain and update the teams project plans, schedules, and cross-functional dependencies, and track progress toward goals.

* Help build a strong and engaged cross-functional team: identify internal owners and stakeholders, increase buy-in to the overarching strategy, problem-solve when gaps emerge, etc.

* Proactively support the Auto Retail (dealership-facing) and Auto Lending Partnerships (bank-facing) teams in expanding Auto Retail Lending to dealerships across the nation.

* Contribute to making internal self-service systems and tools useful and accessible to the many Upstarters who work on Auto Lending, and find innovative ways to keep all Upstarters informed about project plans.

* Organize and facilitate effective stakeholder meetings. Follow up on action items and execute on decisions.

* Coordinate with the Legal and Compliance teams to drive efficient reviews of product and policy-related changes related to the Auto Retail Lending program.

* Develop knowledge of the automotive lending industry, stay up-to-date on new developments, and contribute ideas. Stay informed about changes to internal processes and workstreams across the Upstart Auto Team and monitor performance metrics.

* Track and communicate progress toward quarterly OKRs.

* Keep external vendors on track with internal organization goals.

* Conduct and coordinate market and product research as needed.

**What were looking for:**

* Minimum Qualifications:

+ A Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience

+ 3+ years of program or project management experience are required.

+ Experience working for a fast paced tech company or auto lending experience

* Preferred qualifications:

+ Self starter: Youre capable of defining problems and solutions, doing your own research and analysis, and prioritizing work. You proactively get things done.

+ Execution ability: You should be highly organized and driven to meet deadlines. Once you define a project strategy, you should be comfortable managing requirements across a cross-functional team. Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) and Google Suite is helpful but not required.

+ Grit: This role requires trying new things and establishing new processes, sometimes in the face of ambiguity. You should be comfortable working within a fast-paced startup environment in which priorities can change.

+ Collaborator and communicator: You have proven success in uniting cross-functional teams, sharing updates at the right level of detail, and forging strong relationships. You are adept at working with colleagues from all levels and departments to secure buy-in. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
