Job Description:
GDIT provides air quality modeling support under two US Environmental Protection Agency contracts. The GDIT Air Quality Modeling program performs development, testing, implementation, and evaluation of emissions, meteorological, and air quality models.

Job Description:
GDIT provides air quality modeling support under two US Environmental Protection Agency contracts. The GDIT Air Quality Modeling program performs development, testing, implementation, and evaluation of emissions, meteorological, and air quality models.
- Engages in initiating, designing, developing, executing, and implementing scientific research projects.
- Plans and conducts scientific testing and prepares comprehensive technical reports, data reports, and other publications.
- Develops theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and meaningful pattern for research into new process methods.
- BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, meteorology, or other scientific/mathematical field + 3 yrs experience
- Prior experience with emissions models such as SMOKE
- Experience working in a Linux operating system environment
- Working knowledge of Unix scripting languages (e.g. bash, csh, sed, awk, perl)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with supplemental emissions modeling tools, e.g. MOVES, SMARTFIRE2
- Working knowledge of python, FORTRAN
- Experience with GIS systems ArcGIS, QGIS and/or Google Earth
- Working knowledge of SAS, R, database software MySQL
