Mental Health Consultant

Job description

Insight Global is looking for Mental Health Consultant to support an emergency department in Lanham, MD. The consultant will perform mental health assessments and provide thorough documentation.

They will develop treatment plans consistent with best practices and assist in providing referrals to most appropriate level of care. This person will also assist in securing inpatient psychiatric treatment and insurance authorizations as needed. The consultant will function as an expert clinical resource to nursing and medical staff; coordinate the care of patients in need of psychiatric treatment; work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to effect continuous improvement in the delivery of family-centered patient care. They will accept and discharge additional responsibilities as needed and required to meet service line and organizational objectives.

* Experience working in the Emergency Department

* Experience evaluating patients for suicidal behaviors.
* Licensed Certified Social Worker Clinical (LCSW-C ) from the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC ) from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors.

* Master's Degree

* 3 years of related clinical counseling experience
