Doc-Side Veterinary Medical Center is a progressive, small animal hospital located in historic Fells Point, MD. We are adding a full-time Veterinary Technician Assistant to our team! As a technician-oriented practice, we utilize our nursing staff to their fullest potential- giving you the opportunity to use your hard-earned skills. Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:
Effective communication with both clients & team
Safe handling & restraint of animals
Obtain vitals & medical history
Venipuncture and other types of sample collection
Laboratory testing & radiography

Preferred Qualifications:
Cleaning, laundry and basic clinic up keep
Patient handling and restraint
Medication administration & filling prescriptions
Assisting our Technicians and our Veterinarian as needed
Tackling projects as assigned (with a smile, as always!)
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
High school diploma or GED required
Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience
Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It's okay if you talk to animals, too!)
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
