SCOUT Bags is a fast-growing Washington, DC-based brand known for stylish, functional, affordable bags featuring colorful, one-of-a-kind patterns. The authenticity of the brand is best measured by our team of bright, talented, creative individuals who share a genuine passion for hard work and laughter. SCOUT aspires to be a national lifestyle brand and has plans to significantly increase revenue growth by 2024. Expanding our team is critical to achieving these goals. We need experienced talent with proven expertise to scale new and existing channels, products, and customers resulting in five million more SCOUT bags distributed in the next three years.

SCOUT was co-founded in 2004 by Deb Waterman Johns, a former Vogue editor and busy mom of four, who saw a need in the marketplace for stylish, functional, affordable bags to match her and her familys on-the-go lifestyle. Today, SCOUT enjoys a loyal following of modern women ranging in age from 18-54 years old who comprise four distinct personas. Our primary focus is the high-achieving working mom seeking the most current trends to set her apart. Shes well-educated, hard-working, adventurous, socially conscious, and cares about supporting brands that give back. SCOUT has become her go-to resource by providing the products she needs to contain, organize, and carry all the stuff she needs to successfully navigate her busy life.

SCOUT Products + Distribution:

SCOUT is widely known for its bright, unique, colorful patterns; dynamic, easy-clean fabrics; and thoughtfully designed, versatile products. The core product assortment includes bags, coolers, accessories, and home organization. To further establish itself as a lifestyle brand, SCOUT is rapidly expanding into new product categories via key licensing partnerships and selective brand collaborations. SCOUT sells both online and offline through a diversified distribution channel mix to reach our customer when and where she shops. As an e-commerce-first brand, it is critical to have a strong direct-to-consumer strategy, which includes opening a flagship retail store in our Georgetown headquarters this year.

About the Position:

SCOUT is looking for a full-time Retail Customer Operations Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Customer Operations Manager to support SCOUTs online business and consumers. This person will focus on providing a memorable and positive online experience for our consumer. They will provide best in class service by offering quick response to our consumers through phone conversation, email, and chat. This person will be a brand ambassador for SCOUT. They will be a consistent voice for the SCOUT brand and they will interact with the consumer in an authentic and articulate way. This position will initially be remote, we look forward to having this role located in our amazing Georgetown headquarters once we are back in the office.

What Youll Be Doing:

* Provide omni-channel support to our consumers of our e-commerce business via scoutbags.com.

* Interact with and support our consumers on a daily basis via phone, live chat, and email.

* Be a SCOUT product expert educate consumers on features and benefits, suggest complimentary items for purchase.

* Support on e-commerce consumers with product and pattern information, inventory status, order management, shipping & delivery information, and general customer service.

* Build customer loyalty and customer value through best in class support and relationship management.

* Understand all policies relating to doing business on SCOUTBags.com (i.e. promo codes, shipping policies, return policies, etc)

* Monitor online inventory and coordinate with the channel team to activate and deactivate items when appropriate.

* Test and troubleshoot all promotions with channel team before going live to the consumer.

* Assist the wholesale customer operations team with the wholesale channel during high-volume times.

What Wed Like to See in You:

Required:

* 1-2 years experience in sales or customer service; retail or wholesale experience preferred.

* Experience with customers including face-to-face, electronic, and phone interaction.

* Attention to detail and organization.

* Strong, clear, and professional verbal & written communication skills with demonstrated empathy and attention to customer needs.

* Ability to work efficiently in a team environment with multiple demands, short turn-a-around times, and exciting challenges on a daily basis. We are looking for an individual who can embrace the fluidity of a growing company.

* Effective time management.

* A self-starter with an upbeat can-do attitude.

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

* Remote (must be willing to work Eastern Standard Time) or local to the DC area (Remote until the office reopens time TBD)

* Flexibility with work schedules.

Preferred:

* A bachelors degree.

* Experience selling consumer products.

* Familiarity with the SCOUT brand.

* Familiarity with using Zoom, Go to Meeting, Microsoft Teams, or other virtual conference call software.
