Amazon's Global Fleet and Product (GFP) teams mission is to provide the vehicles and services that enable Amazon to delight customers within our last mile operations.


The Principal will lead Energy Partnerships for Amazons last mile electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The Principal will focus on developing partnerships with key electric utilities, industry coalitions, regulators and other energy market participants in order to accelerate Amazons electrification plans. The role partners with internal and external teams in product management, public policy, finance, legal, and operations.


Key job responsibilities


- Develop and lead Energy Partnerships with key utilities and regulators across the US and Canada


- Act as a subject matter expert on North American electrical grid initiatives, programs, challenges


- Develop strategy, manage ongoing program and present periodic updates to senior leaders


- Collaborate with other partners and stakeholders such as EV Product, Public Policy, Finance, Legal, etc.


- Build partnerships with internal and external organizations to develop next-generation solutions


- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors


- Solve complex problems with simple, innovative, and practical solutions


- Work with stakeholders to define program scope, assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop milestones to ensure timely completion of programs

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree


- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or related field)


- 10+ years of experience in energy markets


- 10+ years of business development, technical product or program manager experience


- Experience developing large scale partnerships and programs with utilities across North America


- Experience making business decisions using relevant data and insights

Preferred Qualifications

- Masters Degree in business engineering, operations, or related field


- Outstanding communication skills and ability to successfully interact and negotiate with technical and operational stakeholders, both internal and external


- A deep understanding of utilities, regulators along with other market participants


- A proven track record of developing large scale partnerships.


- Experience with sustainability programs and initiatives

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $140,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
