Principal Technical Consultant

About the Role:

As a Principal Consultant, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of the United States Marine Corps' (USMC) approach to joint all-domain command and control (JADC2). This critical role involves working directly with the USMC senior leaders to architect, facilitate, and orchestrate the USMC's activities and strategies surrounding JADC2. You will be leveraging your deep technical expertise and extensive experience in defense and military operations to drive strategic initiatives that enhance IT operations and contribute to national defense capabilities against global adversaries.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to senior managers and executives, aligning IT operations with enterprise objectives.
  • Expert Consultation: Utilize your industry expertise to assess organizational baselines, identify IT inadequacies, and recommend strategic enhancements.
  • Complex Problem-Solving: Tackle esoteric problems with advanced technical knowledge, applying your specialized expertise to complex project requirements.
  • Operational Excellence: Guide the determination of information technology gaps affecting the organization's ability to meet goals, generating strategies for enhanced operations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with high-level stakeholders across the DoD, including general officers and senior executives, effectively communicating technical strategies and fostering collaboration.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and direct the efforts of others, contributing to complex projects with your expertise as a top-level specialist.

Requirements:
  • Education: Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 5-7 years of post-master's experience, with a strong preference for candidates with military experience, particularly within USMC or Army Cyber, joint duty assignments, or R&D roles.
  • Technical Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of JADC2, zero trust, cloud technologies, and the ability to apply industry best practices within government operations.
  • Security Clearance: Top Secret clearance with SCI access required.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, high EQ, and the capacity to navigate complex political and technical environments effectively.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Certifications in IAT II or III, AI, Agile methodologies (CSM, Agile Practitioner), or similar.
  • Retired military personnel with relevant operational and leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of strategic planning and execution in high-stakes environments.
  • Must possess a Top Secret clearance with SCI access or be eligible to obtain SCI access without waiver at time of onboarding.

Security Clearance:
  • Must possess a Top Secret clearance with SCI access or be eligible to obtain SCI access without waiver at time of onboarding.

Travel Requirement:
  • Up to 25%, including potential travel to Europe and Africa.
