As a Strategic Business Development Executive, you will be the first point of contact with potential customers informing them about SHRM s Enterprise offerings along with working closely with the Enterprise Executives to pursue opportunities, recommend appropriate follow-up and schedule qualified meetings. This highly motivated individual will generate new business opportunities through multi-channel prospecting strategies, efficiently respond and qualify inbound leads, work full cycle deals, and qualify strategic sales opportunities for Directors of Corporate Partnerships.Successful candidates will be passionate, entrepreneurial sales professionals who are highly motivated, work well in fast paced, startup environments, who demonstrate great critical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate should have an accomplished background in prospecting into C-level positions across the Mid-Market to Enterprise space and be interested in working for mission-driven organization that creates better workplaces where employers and employees thrive together.Responsibilities:Efficiently respond and qualify inbound marketing leadsComplete high volume prospecting activities to fuel sales pipelineGenerate new business opportunities through multi-channel prospectingFull sales cycle responsibilities for organizations <1,000 employeesConduct high level conversations with Senior HR Executives within target accounts, qualify and schedule meetings for Directors of Corporate PartnershipsIdentify and build key relationships with C-level HR executives and department heads to create synergies between the corporations and SHRM business, understanding client's critical priorities, gaps to be addressed and help execute through our suite of programs and servicesResearch target clients, staying informed on industry trends and providing HR insight to create new opportunities and relationshipsExecute on sales targets, hitting (and exceeding) revenue/growth goals and other key performance metrics for Enterprise sales qualified leads per monthMaintain and use in-depth knowledge of SHRM s data, research, industry trends and data-driven insights to consult and engage prospective customersManage, track and report sales activities and pipeline through SalesforceDevelop strong, collaborative, relationships with internal sales teams to close account opportunitiesCollaborate with sales team to share best practices and make recommendations to generate new business opportunities more effectively and close more salesPerforms other duties as assigned.Education & Experience RequirementsSuccessful track record of lead generation, prospecting, pipeline management and closing customersMust have worked in a business development role with inbound and outbound sales responsibilities, consistently exceeded sales quotasExperience working in complex, mid-market and/or enterprise spaceA record of past achievement, including demonstrated ability to generate leads, opportunities, and close full sales cycles with C-level decision-makersEducation:Bachelor s degree or High School diploma with extended relevant experience required. 3+ years of professional experience in business-to-business sales development, preferably HCM, HR Consulting, HR SAAS, L&D spaceKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesHighly motivated, purpose driven and self-starting individualExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to listen well, understand and recommend solutions to address customer needs through exceptional problem-solving skillsIncredibly organized and attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Entrepreneurial drive and comfort working in ambiguous, quickly changing environmentAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Ability to travel to conferences, client meetings, competitive conferences.Additional NotesPhysical Requirements (adjust this section as necessary)Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
