Position Overview
All teachers will be expected to support the school-wide goals of emphasizing literacy, helping students develop their critical thinking abilities, driving all students toward mastery and understanding, and helping students find their strengths and talents and use them to address weaknesses and overcome fears. We have small teacher-student ratios, allowing for individualized attention and special needs students are fully included in the classroom. The history teacher must be willing to teach a range of history subject areas, including World History I, World History II, US History, US Government, and/or DC History. Dual certification in social studies and special education would be ideal. This position is located inside of a juvenile detention center.
