Tracking Code 12300-159 Job Description **MISSION / SUMMARY:**

Graphic Packaging has an immediate need for a Printing Department Manager at our Solon, Ohio plant. The ideal candidate will be a results oriented individual with a Sheeting, Printing & Die Cutting Background. Will be able to effectively manage the departments to meet all operational metrics while ensuring Safe, Quality, Production results while positively impacting Solons EBITDA. Able to manage career paths by leading, coaching and developing five direct reports and 75 indirect hourly reports. Work effectively with interdepartmental Senior Leadership Team members and applicable staff to ensure continuous improvement and optimal production results for new & existing customers. Monitor, identify and implement solutions for areas of opportunity through data acquisition and trend analysis using plant specific platforms (SAP, Qlickview, RFgen).

**JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.**

Provides effective and efficient direction in Sheeting, Printing & Die Cutting.

Works closely with maintenance planning & production scheduling to organize work.

Plan, track & manage machine readiness and work order backlog for up to 9 assets.

Optimize, manage & track all department supply inventories & ordering.

Monitors and consistently works toward process improvement and high quality results.

Coordinates with Human Resources to ensure departmental needs are met.

Manage and direct die purchasing and budgetary requirements. Provide technical leadership.

Effectively manage data entry and reporting of departmental scorecards to organizations operational excellence group.

Lead, drive and contribute on capital installation projects to ensure seamless machine commissioning.

Audit Quality department processes and procedures to ensure compliance.

May be required to meet with customers externally and internally.

Maintain solid employee relations and promote positive culture.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills **BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:**

* 5-8 years of progressive management experience required.

* Management experience in a union environment preferred.

* Management inventory and raw material consumption required.

* Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

* Demonstrated supervisory and project management experience.

**EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:**

* Bachelor Degree in related field.

* Lean Manufacturing, Continuing Education Program or Six Sigma preferred.

* Strong knowledge of Employee Relations and Supervision.

* Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills with emphasis on Word & Excel.

**SPECIFIC SKILLS:**

* Ability to maintain favorable employee moral.

* Ability to work in a fast paced environment handling multiple tasks.

* Ability to trouble shoot manufacturing equipment.

* Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.

* Ability to provide insight in capacity expansion needs assessments.

**SCHEDULE DEMANDS:**

* General schedule is day-shift, however, employees must be willing to work alternate schedules that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

* Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**

* Sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time.

* Occasional lifting.

* Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.

* Use of various hand and electrical office equipment.
