**Job Description:**

The adjunct lecturer is responsible for teaching a course(s) online, hybrid or in person assigned on a per semester basis.

**Responsibilities**

* Coordinate, plan and create syllabi for course(s) assigned each semester

* Develop, deliver and grade relevant assignments, discussions, tests and other activities that measure student progress towards course goals

* Evaluate student progress towards specified course objectives and provide timely feedback to students accordingly

* Facilitate classroom instruction using an appropriate pedagogical framework relevant to course content

* Maintain accurate, objective and complete grading rosters for all students within assigned courses

* Comply with all related federal, state and local regulatory guidelines including but not limited to FERPA and Title IX

* Submit all grades to the Registrar by the published deadline

* Observe all requirements of the McDaniel College Honor Code (see Student Handbook)

* Provide the opportunity during office hours or by special appointment for students to consult or to review the results of tests, papers, and other requirements

* Treat grades and other student records with confidentiality and in accord with state and federal law

* Participates in all orientation required for new adjunct faculty

* Participate in required online teaching on-boarding program and comply with all required online and hybrid course design policies and procedures.

**Requirements:**

* A level of advanced training required appropriate to the teaching assignment

* A high and fluent level of proficiency in American Sign Language

* Three to five years of experience in profession preferred

* Experience teaching online using Blackboard or other LMS system preferred

* Ability to use internet, word, email, excel, zoom, teams and presentation software programs such as PowerPoint.

* The ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with the Program Coordinator, students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
