Job Description
The Director of Policy, Government Affairs, is responsible for pursuing a solutions-oriented approach to healthcare policy analysis and development as part of an active and nimble Government Affairs team. The Director will work collaboratively with the Vice President, Government Affairs and Sr. Director, State Government Affairs to improve the statutory and regulatory environment for Envision, our clinicians, and the patients they serve. Envision's Government Affairs team works cross functionally with clinical and business leaders to set and accomplish meaningful priorities and goals. Successful candidates should be naturally curious, with strong research and writing skills and a desire to develop answers to difficult healthcare policy problems.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to draft formal comments related to state and federal regulatory action
Individually and at the direction of the Vice President, Government Affairs; develop policy proposals to improve the regulatory and statutory environment relevant to the business operations of the organization, quality of life of our clinicians, and quality of care for patients
Engage directly with clinical and organizational stakeholders to understand their unique policy needs
Think critically to build innovative solutions to complicated problems
Determine the potential impacts, risks, and opportunities of policy proposals through direct research and stakeholder feedback
Draft materials that clearly and concisely explain specific policy challenges, opportunities, and their relevant context for internal and external audiences
Support organizational initiatives designed to empower clinicians to engage in effective government advocacy
Understand and abide by the company's code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs
Report any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company
Obtain clarification of policy whenever necessary and use the resources available through the Compliance, People and Culture, or Legal Department to do so
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree
At least 5 years of legislative, regulatory, or clinical experience. Graduate degree in a relevant field may be considered part of a candidate's experience
Knowledge & Skills:
Outstanding conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Functional understanding of legislative and regulatory processes
Specific knowledge regarding any combination of federal, Texas, Florida, Arizona, New York, or New Jersey processes preferred but not required
Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders with a range of personal and professional beliefs, perspectives, and experiences
Skilled writer capable of adapting to a range of purposes, including formal regulatory comments, legislative outlines, and stakeholder education
Strong sense of accountability; passion for owning projects and driving them to completion
Demonstrated expertise in healthcare preferred but not required
Location:
Preference given to candidates residing within a 1.5 hour commute of downtown Washington, D.C., however, qualified candidates will be considered regardless of location. This position will operate under a remote-work model with occasional opportunities for in-person collaboration based on location and project-based need.
