Position Summary

The Father Child Attachment Supervisor provides leadership to the Mary's Center Home Visiting Father Child Attachment (FCA) Family Support Workers. The position is responsible for:

  • Oversight and supervision of the FCA Family Support Workers (FSWs) and other home visiting staff as needed.
  • Providing weekly, reflective supervision to FSWs.
  • Ensuring FSWs understand and meet required assessment schedules and documentation timeframes.
  • Monitoring service delivery to ensure FSWs implement the model with fidelity.
  • Collaborating with the Program Manager to collect and synthesize data for monthly reporting, chart review, and other report requirements as needed.
  • Carry a reduced caseload of 10-12 fathers at any given time and will provide coverage to program caseloads during staff vacancies.


Reportability

This position will report directly to the HFA Program Manager. This position will manage/supervise a team of 2 Family Support Workers (FSWs).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Case Management:

  • Maintain an identified productivity level by providing direct services to participants referred and enrolled families to schedule and complete home visits.
  • Enroll and retain a full caseload of 10-12 fathers and maintain all client records in a timely and complete manner.
  • With the assistance of the HFA Program Manager, plan visits using case review, Family Goal Plan, child development curriculum, and age-appropriate materials.
  • Use a strengths-based approach to supporting families in identifying their own goals and connecting to other resources.
  • Report incidents of child abuse and neglect and become an active member of the intervention team to assist families in modifying behaviors or conditions that promoted the abuse and neglect.
  • Schedule and administer child development screenings, and caregiver health screenings as appropriate.
  • Plan individualized visits based on observations of family strengths and challenges.
  • Collaborate with Program Supervisor or Manager to determine level of family functioning and growth as it relates to visit frequency.
  • Upload all assessment, planning, and visit documentation within the identified timeline.


Supervision and Program Oversight:

  • Conduct weekly supervision with each FSW for 1.5 - 2 hours.
  • Ensure that the required number of home visits are conducted on a monthly basis and all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Balance caseloads according to the model identified to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Provide statistical information to the HFA Program Manager in a timely manner and inform the HFA Program Manager of any changes in caseloads or family assignments promptly.
  • Identify staff training needs and develop plans for each staff member.
  • Evaluate each team member's performance within required timeframe and coaches team members toward the achievement of project objectives.
  • Conduct shadow home visits of Family Support Workers (FSWs) with, at minimum, two to three home visits every year.
  • Review parent surveys, determine needs and ensure that there is clarity regarding the case prior to FSW contact with the family.
  • Provide back-up to FSWs in the event that they are unable to work with a family, which may include being on call nights or weekends.


Leadership:

  • Attend and participate in scheduled seminars, conferences and in-service training to build relationships with community and identify and address needs.
  • Assess the development of program communicating any concerns and issues as they arise.
  • Maintain relationship with funders and develop reports per contract standards.
  • Report to HFA Program Manager any areas of non-compliance or concerns with program implementation.Implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure compliance.
  • Adhere to all critical elements of model program ensuring ability to sustain credential and/or certification in program
  • Ensure program maintains within budgetary guidelines.
  • Other activities as identified by the HFA Program Manager.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities -

  • A bachelor's degree in social work or related human services field and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree in social work or related human services field preferred.
  • Three years of experience in case management with families, children, or youth.
  • Experience in home visiting with a background in prevention services to the 0-5 age population preferred.
  • Experience with providing family-centered, strengths-based services to culturally diverse communities and families.
  • Knowledge of infant and child development, parent-child attachment, maternal-infant health, and dynamics of child abuse and neglect preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with or knowledge of reflective practice preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • A working knowledge and understanding of patient/client confidentiality issues and HIPAA compliance/regulations are essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English is required.Additional language proficiency or fluency preferred.


Physical Demands - Regularly required to sit; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear; must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Work Environment - Mostly in a typical office and/or home setting with quiet to moderate noise level.May be exposed to extreme cold, heat, and humidity due to outside weather conditions. Opportunity to work a hybrid schedule - remotely & onsite, available as needed.
