Role Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join our Downstream Process Development group. The Senior Scientist will be instrumental in driving downstream process optimization and scale-up efforts for proteins, nanoparticles, and virus-like particle (VLP) based vaccines.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently design, execute, and analyze experiments to develop and optimize downstream processes, ensuring phase-appropriate, high-yielding, and scalable processes.
  • Lead process characterization studies and provide technical support for cGMP manufacturing activities.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Discovery, Process Sciences, Upstream Development, and Analytical Development, to drive innovative solutions and meet project milestones.
  • Present findings, interpret data, and prepare technical reports summarizing critical results and process descriptions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in downstream processing, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • years of hands-on experience in downstream process development, preferably in the biopharmaceutical or vaccine industry.
  • Expertise in protein purification, nanoparticle purification, or virus-like particle (VLP) purification techniques.
  • Strong proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and technical report writing.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
