Job Overview

The Research Navigator - in a temporary, full-time role - conducts recruitment and enrollment activities for clinical trials under the National Capital Area (NCA) Minority/Underserved NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).

They recruit patients to NCORP approved protocols, conducting work according to the study protocols, standard operating procedures, HIPAA, and human subjects protection guidelines.

* Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Screening clinic schedules

* Obtaining informed consent on all eligible and interested participants

* Registering and enrolling participants

* Administering study related questionnaires, biospecimen acquisition, delivery and shipment, data entry, and maintenance of records

Work Interactions

Reporting directly to the NCORP Program Manager, the Research Navigator interacts with other team members, inclusive of clinical research coordinators, data coordinators, nurse practitioners, principal investigators and key stakeholders; and interacts appropriately and effectively with all parties.

Requirements and Qualifications

* High School diploma or equivalency

* Experience with interactive databases, Microsoft, and EHR systems

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical abilities, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualification

Bilingual - ability to speak Spanish, Mandarin, or Korean
