Description The Principal ElasticSearch Systems Engineer role provides support across an Agile team in a DevSecOps environment. This role will provide support for a large enterprise ElasticSearch deployment. This role requires providing design, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting support in the Elastic environments in both cloud (AWS) and on prem.Primary Responsibilities:Maintain Elasticsearch clusters in a cloud-based environment across multiple availability zones.Ensure the Elasticsearch clusters continue to run under optimal conditionsEvaluate existing Elasticsearch clusters, configuration parameters, indexing, search and query performance tuning, security and administrationMaintain appropriate infrastructure to maintain performance and data integrityKeep Elasticsearch clusters upgraded (as permitted by the applications reliant on them)Spin up/customize clusters to meet various development and/or business needsOptimize indexes to meet business needs (e.g. logging, enterprise search)Troubleshoot various issues with the clusters (from small errors like unassigned shards, to automation issues, to node/cluster failures)Work closely with architecture, engineering and development and operations teams and jointly work on key deliverables ensuring production scalability and stabilityEnsure security of Elasticsearch clusterFollow and implement Elastic best practicesEnsure appropriate monitoring & alerting of ElasticsearchBasic Qualifications:3+ year experience with Elasticsearch AdministrationDirect experience maintaining and integrating Elasticsearch within an operational enterprise information systemExperience working in an Agile development environment and tempoExperience with deploying and using Elasticsearch in Commercial Cloud Platform (ex, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)**Candidate must have a Bachelor s degree with 12 or more years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 or more years of prior relevant experience.**Candidate must have an active TS/SCI w/PolyPreferred Qualifications:Experience working on customer's systemsUnderstanding of customer's system development policiesOriginal Posting Date:2024-03-18While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
