Insight Global is seeking a Big Data Platform Engineer to support a federal client of ours in a telework capacity out of the Washington D. C. area. This position will need to report onsite once a week in Alexandria, VA. Overall, the customer has a Big Data Platform Cloud solution that already exists and they are seeking an individual who is familiar with Hadoop, Spark, and related ecosystems to help maintain the environment. The day-to-day includes:

- Implement best practices for cloud security, performance, and cost optimization.

- Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to understand platform requirements.

- Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of the Big Data Platform.

- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for efficient resource management.

- Scripting and automation skills
- Active Secret clearance or higher

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar

- Security+ certification or equivalent

- Experience with Big Data Platform support and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

- Experience with Python, Bash, and Terraform

- Proficient with Hadoop, Spark, etc.
