Position Overview

Seeking a Project Manager responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing timely delivery of an emerging technologies information technology (IT) project and will lead and guide the work of technical staff and serve as the liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Responsible for monitoring, summarizing and communicating the progress of the project internally and externally and coordinating people, tools, and processes to execute projects flawlessly. This includes conducting the strategic and operational project planning, forecasting, execution and closeout within scope and budget. Must be a proactive communicator who effectively monitors and controls all facets of the project and keeps all stakeholders informed of the project progress, risks, issues and resolutions/mitigations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Understand system development life cycle (SDLC) and other IT methodologies and terminologies such as ITIL, Agile, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), data ingest and ETL process with very large data sets in a Government environment.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and communication using PM best practices. Establish communications protocols and management practices for contractor staff.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion and continually manage project expectations with team members.
  • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools ensuring Identification and management of project dependencies and critical paths.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, mitigate risks and devise contingency plans.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationship vital to the success of the project.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and encourage them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Conduct project evaluations and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Lead organic growth of the project.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field, or related equivalent experience
  • 10+ years' experience as an IT professional, 5+ years of management experience and 2+ years in an IT department
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • 3-5 years' experience as Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Project Management software
  • Strong Knowledge and experience with JIRA preferred
  • Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and balance priorities from multiple projects and release schedules.
  • Must be an excellent communicator (oral and written) with sound analytical skills
  • Successful candidates must possess strong interpersonal and problem solving skills to interface with a wide range of personnel, solve problems, resolve conflicts, and build relationships.
  • Must be able to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
