Job description

This is a 12 month contract with Freddie Mac. 100% remote. Only EST/CST candidates. Visa - All but no H1B. Linkedin must.

Freddie Mac's Single-Family (SF) Division is currently seeking a Data Governance Senior to be part of the SF Data Governance team. The ideal candidate has a passion for people, technology and data. Partnering with key stakeholders, you will play a key role in how SF manages Information Risk. You will build trust and relationships within SF and across the divisions while delivering timely and meaningful communications, thinking creatively to solve problems, and continuing to set the bar higher for Single Family.

Your Work Falls into Three Primary Categories:

Data Governance Strategy, Standards and Policies

  • Create strategies, plans and approaches to manage Information Risk on behalf of the SF Division and contribute to the Single-family data strategy and data governance roadmap.
  • Define and execute Data Governance and Privacy Roadmaps, Charters, Standards, implementation plans, waiver processes, and success measures
  • Develop and maintain Data policies, playbook(s), processes, procedures for guiding various data management processes, including information security and privacy and data quality controls
  • On an ongoing basis, you will lead evolution of the Single-family data governance practices to align with the enterprise policies and standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support the facilitation of the annual Data Maturity Assessment, gather supporting materials, and validate evidence
  • Monitor execution of risk and controls
  • Monitor projects to ensure compliance with data governance requirements
  • Ensure that data related requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and well understood
  • Proactively champions the value of information (data) as a strategic business asset and revenue generator by providing the business and strategy teams with ideas and promoting those ideas into action; including developing and implementing communication, learning, change management and adoption plan
  • Lend support to the growth and literacy of data governance overall in support of the Information Life-cycle Management program.
Project Administration, Meeting Facilitation & Public Speaking
  • Conduct Working Groups and act as a liaison between stakeholders to clarify interpretations of the Standard, resolve issues, and manage exceptions
  • Lead, conduct, and enhance training programs and maintain departmental SharePoint site
  • Execute reporting for monthly governance committee, divisional risk committee and other ad hoc reporting requests
  • Excellent communicator with great interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as the ability to write well and translate complex issues into simple language that people who are not specialists can understand
  • Highly developed skills in priority setting and alignment of project priorities with Departmental strategy
  • Results oriented, willingness to commit to a direction and drive operations to completion
  • Ability to articulate vision of transformation efforts and a sense of mission
  • Identify and implement cross-project efficiencies where possible

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 to 6 years of overall progressive experience supporting a divisional/enterprise data governance function.
  • Proficient in business process design, risk and controls.
  • Expertise in managing a broad range of stakeholders, including those at the executive level to identify potential people-side risks, points of resistance, and develop action plans.
  • Expert level of presentation development and delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and manage issues. proactively seek and resolve problems.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
