Project Accountant

Job description

Our client is a national leader in the commercial construction industry and they are looking for a Project Accountant to join their awesome team! You will be assisting the Senior Project Manager in coordinate all phases of the construction cost process including categorizing, recording, analyzing and monitoring costs and billings associated with a large construction project as well as several smaller less complex projects.

Compensation: $80,000-$100,000
Location: Dulles, VA
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, compile, and analyze monthly project billing per contract requirement
  • Produce and analyze job performance and profitability through job cost tracking reports
  • Support project manager on contract compliance and reporting
  • Manages vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s
  • Ensure project users are able to effectively use ERP and related systems for planning, recording, and managing projects and financials
Position Requirements: Project Accountant
  • Five years of accounting experience preferred; 3-5 years of construction project experience is a plus
  • Experience with project billings and be able to manage billings for multiple projects at a time
  • Have an understanding of insurance and compliance as it relates to a project
  • With your excellent verbal and written communication skills, you are an ace at bringing a collaborative energy to the team!
  • You are no stranger at working in fast paced environment with multiple priorities and strict deadlines. Additionally, you are flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the project
  • Self starter, can get the work done with minimum supervision
  • Excellent computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate to expert level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc. required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent preferred
