General Summary:

Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Accounting, this position performs a variety of entry level accounting duties and clerical tasks.

Responsibilities:

Reconcile, audit, and analyze general ledger accounts as assigned and prepare accounting entries with supporting documentation.

Interface with management and company personnel, as required, regarding the status of accounting transactions and corrective actions required.

Prepare effective account reconciliations with supporting documentation; research and follow up on differences from the expected balance as well as making recommendations for process improvement.

Must be able to analyze large amounts of data from various sources and organize the data by creating and updating complex spreadsheets.

Maintain various records, files, and supporting documentation for regulatory or other reporting purposes, including annual audit and tax return preparation.

Reviews Monthly Profit/Loss statements

Cross-train with others in accounting.

Using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to verify and post detailed business transactions to the general ledger and other tracking systems.

Work to maintain the financial stability, strength and liquidity of the organization and other tasks or special projects as assigned.

Preferred Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience related to accounting.

At least one year of experience performing professional accounting or auditing work is preferred.

Demonstrate ability to compile statistical reports and assist staff and management in monitoring and reporting.

Exceptional Excel spreadsheet skills.

Demonstrate effective time management. Ability to work in a frequently stressful work environment and meet deadlines as assigned is required.

Ability to make independent judgment within established guidelines.

Effective written and verbal communication skills are required to assist internal employees in understanding accounting practices.
