Purpose of Division:

Information Technology & Services (IT&S) is responsible for planning, design, implementation, and support of NeighborWorks America (NWA) enterprise-wide business applications and management of information technology resources and services. IT&S provides business applications and supporting services to identify, gather and efficiently organize the data that is required to support the business activities of NeighborWorks America and its affiliated NeighborWorks Organizations. NeighborWorks America undertakes several major capital budget IT project initiatives to meet NWA s current and future mission, goals, objectives, and ongoing business requirements.

Position Summary

Plays a key role as a Senior Business Analyst (BA) with primary responsibilities in areas such as requirements gathering and analysis, comprehensive solutions analysis, user stories, acceptance criteria creation, test plan development, and the coordination of User Acceptance testing. The Senior Business Analyst will successfully engage various levels of business users to understand and document business processes and recommend improvements where necessary. The BA will also partner with NeighborWorks IT resources to clearly communicate and clarify functional and technical requirements that support immediate and long-range system development and ensures that the production system is aligned with the needs of the business. A strong understanding of current software engineering approaches and solid experience with Agile methodologies, to include Scrum Agile Framework is required.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Conducting and facilitating requirement gathering sessions, business process analysis sessions and performs fit/gap analyses.Reviews, analyzes, and creates detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including business requirement documentation, workflow of business process models, use case scenarios, functional specifications, and program functions. Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies.Conducts and facilitates application design sessions and develops functional and technical design documentation for use in development of business process changes and report creations.Conducts and facilitates business process analysis sessions.Develops testing strategy, testing plans, and document system integration test cases, user acceptance test cases, and non-functional performance test cases. Ensures that all tests are conducted and documented according to industry standards. Includes results verification and release sign-off.Provides process improvement recommendations.Performs validation of newly developed features, and documents issues/defects and tracks them to closure.Coordinates user acceptance testing and assists in preparation of user training material and documentation.Coaches and mentors project team members on the best practices of business analysis and testing.Conducts and documents gap analysis of current production systems against business requirements.Develops User Stories and associated acceptance criteria from documented requirements.Diagrams system data flows.

Nature Of Work Contacts

This position interfaces with various audiences, both business and technical, inside and outside the organization. Within NeighborWorks America, the BA should expect to interface with various parties from line staff to middle management, and senior and executive leadership. The BA may also associate with the customers and partners of NeighborWorks America as well as vendors that provide services to the organization.

Fiscal Responsibilities

This position will have responsibilities to complete project specific deliverables on-time and within budget for the assigned projects and programs.

Position Requirements

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education: College level degree, certification(s) and/or equivalent relevant work experienceExperience: 5 years of related professional experience in business analysis or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:Licenses, Certifications: Certified Business Analysis Professional or equivalent preferredCompetencies, Knowledge, and Skills & Abilities:Ability to quickly learn and understand relevant business process areas in support of NeighborWorks Compass and CounselorMax.Strong understanding of system development life cycle processes, application support processes and various service management processes.Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills including comprehension, written and verbal skills.Strong customer-service orientation.Must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with NeighborWorks America staff and customers and external vendors.Strong technical documentation skills for documenting project requirements, operations guidelines and policies, technical specifications, etc.Excellent team facilitation skills for business process analysis, business requirements gathering, system analysis and design, joint application development sessions, and brainstorming sessions.Excellent understanding of business process knowledge and concepts of business process re-engineering, requirements development and information management processes. Ability to quickly learn and understand relevant business process areas in support of NeighborWorks America applications.Excellent understanding of software quality assurance concepts and proficiency with unit and system integration testing, user acceptance testing, functional and non-functional testing.Proficient with System Development Life Cycle processes and Application Support processes. These include Waterfall, Incremental, and Agile Development methodologies and various Service Management Processes.Excellent facilitation skills for requirements gathering, analysis sessions, business stakeholder communication and presentation, and project team presentations.Thorough understanding of security, process and internal and external audit compliance requirements, business continuity and disaster recovery requirements and knowledge of regulations and statutes applicable to enterprise business applications. Proficient in assessing infrastructure requirements, concepts of database and software engineering.Strong experience with the Software Development Life Cycle.Experience diagraming business processes used for systems design.Experience developing test plans and coordinating application deployment activities.Strong experience developing User Stories and associated acceptance criteria.Experience with relational databases.Experience diagramming data flows.Technology:Technically proficient with the concepts of User Interface Design, Use Case Modeling, Object Modeling, Database Design and Data modeling.Knowledge of and experience with requirements definition, management tools, and testing tools and practices as part of software application deployment.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.Experience with Salesforce preferred.NeighborWorks America Staff are expected to demonstrate excellence in the following:Sensitivity to racial, gender, sexual orientation, and cultural differences.Effective, respectful, and timely communications with internal and external stakeholders.Listening effectively, seeks and accepts feedback well.Effective teamwork.Analytic, thoughtful, and strategic thinking.Considering the mission, objectives, and goals of NeighborWorks and demonstrating an understanding of the impact of her/his/their decisions and behavior on the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Business Analysis Professional or equivalent is preferred.

Master s Degree is preferred.

Working Conditions

Travel: Normally limited travel (up to 10%). It may vary and be higher based on the assigned projects and where the business units are located.Physical/Sensory Demands: Fast-paced working environment, extensive computer usage.hybrid reports to the office two days per week
