FINANCIAL PLANNER

Overview

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Financial Planner to join their growing team in their McLean, VA office.

The Financial Planner will embrace technology, enjoy a collaborative environment, and value serving clients in a fiduciary capacity. The Financial Planner will work in our financial planning department with other experienced financial planners and collaborate with financial advisors to provide comprehensive wealth management solutions to our clients. The opportunity will allow you to develop and gain access to outstanding market and growth opportunities, while adding stability and capacity to the overall business operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to the Financial Planning Department, conduct financial planning research, and assist in the preparation of customized comprehensive financial plans and portfolios for clients
  • Create and deliver suitable investment strategies for each client based on their personal financial situations
  • Coordinate client service needs with internal and external team members and provide support to the overall client experience
  • Stay updated on significant changes or developments within the fields of financial planning and investments, including taxation, regulatory, legal, competitive, and technical updates
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of compliance, regulatory, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Complete the necessary training and experience to obtain your CFP certification and/or maintain required designations
  • Mentor and train paraplanners
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Financial Planning, or other related fields
  • CFP Designation preferred
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of financial planning and/or client relationship management experience
  • Fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience working with financial planning software
  • In-depth knowledge of key financial planning concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on relationship building and management with the team and clients
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software on an intermediate to advanced level
