The Insider Threat Analyst will triage anomalous event data and analyze insider threat program datasets to conduct threat analysis. This specific opportunity is targeted toward an early-career cybersecurity professional who is extremely eager to learn and grow in the field.What you get to do every day:Conduct comprehensive all-source analysis in support of the Insider Threat missionTriage anomalous event dataAccess network monitoring, data analytic, and other tools; integrate available information, decipher underlying trends and anomalies; and discern obscure patterns found in the datasetsProduce all source analytic products in support of the Insider Threat missionAggregate, analyze and evaluate available program data sources to evaluate Insider Threat riskExtract and organize data to build metrics, reports, case studies, and trend reportsConduct risk assessments and present findings to a variety of audiences, including very senior decision-makers, written and oral presentationsConduct research to support ongoing analytic effortsPrepare and produce situational awareness and warning reports related to Insider ThreatAssist in the preparation and production of analytical reports identifying areas for efficiencies in the production processProvide editing and quality control of program productsReview Insider Threat information in support of meeting program mission requirements and timelinesProvide recommendations to contractor and government leadership on ways to improve the Insider Threat programQualifications

**Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility required**What skills are required?Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or a closely related fieldMinimum three (3) years of general cybersecurity experience and two (2) years of relevant experienceStrong natural aptitude for analytical problem-solvingBasic understanding of insider threat program missionsBasic familiarity with risk-scoring concepts and some exposure to data analytics tools/programsKnowledge of the following:

TCP/IPPacket AnalysisSIEM OperationUnderstanding of how exploits work and appear within network trafficIntrusion Detection TechnologyUnderstanding of rootkits, exploits, and other types of malwareAwareness and understanding of popular attack tools (e.g.. Zeus, Blackhole, Slowloris, LOIC, Cryptolocker, Pony Loader, etc.)Ability to communicate effectively the actual status of an incident, attack, or other cyber issue.Awareness of tradecraft used by Nation State APT actorsCapability to support the following systems: ArcSight SIEM; Splunk; Novetta Cyber Analytics; FireEye MPS Suite; Snort IDS; Bro IDS; Fidelis XPS; CloudShield Trusted Cyber Solution Orchestrator; Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics; Counterattack Active Defense

Extremely motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create technical reports on analytic findingsAbility to exercise discretion and confidentiality while performing in highly sensitive roles and missionsAbility to learn rapidly and begin contributing positively within a cohesive team environment, even as the least experienced member of the teamWhat is ideal?Experience as an insider threat analyst is ideal, but not requiredLocation:This is a hybrid role with expectations of being on the client site in Washington, DC, a few days a week.Additional Information
