EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Leads the design process working closely with internal stakeholders, with focus on efficiency, cost effectiveness and accountability in producing Interior Design projects reflecting current Interior Design trends and hotel brand standards.
Leads the Interior Design Program with effort focused on educating, guiding, and influencing customers as a hotel brand products and services.
Partners with Global Senior Vice President and Luxury Creative Director creating a strong collaborative process and alignment.
Make presentations to various levels in the organization including senior executive leadership and owners to gain their approval of the recommendations.
Partners with internal stakeholders to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions to drive the business needs of the brands in support of their strategic growth goals.
Provide leadership to the team through Oasis, Sonar data platforms providing timely accurate updates to support the business needs.
Provide leadership, management direction and guidance to relevant internal and external team members to ensure that they have the necessary information to complete their responsibilities.
Partner with business unit leaders to market and sell the assigned brand to key new and existing owners/franchisees to expand brand recognition and promote development opportunities.
Sell/influence owners/franchisees using MI expertise and knowledge to gain more business.
Act as liaison and point-of-contact for owners and franchisees to ensure excellent service and problem resolution.
Advise and update owners and franchisees regarding brand and design standards and initiatives.
Lead the development of business processes and monitor processes for continued relevance.
Supports the department leader and functions as backup in their absence.
Represents the company at the highest level as the face of the hotel brand at conference, trade shows.
Leads collaborative product development, design integrity standards and lessons learned effort related to brands.
Liaison with developers and Operations to negotiate property brand assignment.
Continually monitors current business processes, makes recommendations, and implements approved changes as required.
Responsible for development and adherence to department and project budgets. Responsible for developing and maintaining initiative budgets.
Develops strategic relationships with owners and franchisees to promote and influence the MI Interior Design services and philosophy.
Analyzes and aligns ID department resources equal to associate skill sets and workload requirements.
Support internal stakeholders, owners, and Project Management during the construction phase to maintain quality, budget, and schedule.
Provide day-to-day review of team members professional performance and provide input for their improvement and career development.
Execute PIP s (Property Improvement Plans) working closely with all internal and external stakeholders.
Partners with Brands & GDS to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions to drive the business needs of the brands in support of their strategic growth goals.
Partners with Global design Strategies, design integrity standards and lessons learned effort related to brands.
Continually monitors current business processes, makes recommendations, and implements approved changes as required.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

Key Skills/Requirements:
12+ years interior design experience including hospitality industry.
Luxury hospitality experience preferred.
Knowledgeable about innovation & trends both in & outside of industry
Excellent business acumen
Complex problem solving & creative solution skills.
Ability to build & maintain strong working relationships across departments & teams.
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to negotiate and be flexible when appropriate.
Excellent organizational skills & ability to manage multiple priorities & resources.
Expert written & verbal communications skills.
Strong people/project management skills
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to create and inspire a team environment.
Strong background in interior architecture and FF&E

Education/Experience:
4-year degree from an accredited interior design program preferred
12+ years design experience preferably in the hospitality design industry
NCIDQ certificate or professional association membership preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $127,088.00 to $281,923.00 annually.
