ICMS is seeking a Chief Engineer
to join our team in Manassas at our customer's secure site. The Chief Engineer is responsible for organizing, scheduling, assigning, reviewing, and supervising the performance of work of various trades; including but not limited to: engineers, electricians, trades helpers, and maintenance mechanics. The candidate must be ethical and be prepared to adhere to company internal policies around ethical and fair treatment of all staff, clients and tenants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional responsibility for planning, organizing, and controlling the integration and completion of building systems.
Supervise and schedule staff to perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment.
Responsible for all aspects and operations for a 24 x 7 facility
Interact with government facility staff daily for maintenance, projects, and repairs.
Participate inrecruitment, examination and hiring process
Evaluate praise and discipline assigned staff on an as needed basis
Review and provide solutions to technical issues and challenges; determine where improvements can be made and recommend and implement changes
Conduct safety meetings and training on a regular basis
Proficient in TMA (work order process)
Maintain and review work records of assigned staff or crews
Determine time, materials, supplies and overall costs needed to complete assignments and provide input into the budget process
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
DC 3rd class License, or DC 1st class license including Universal CFC certification
In addition to one or more of the following certifications: IFMA, BOMI, or AFE
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
10 + years experience in the field with increasing levels of responsibility
5 years experience in a data center with redundancy or TIER rating a plus
5+ years experience directing a crew of 10 or more individuals
4+ years experience working in Government contracting
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWORK ENVIRONMENT
The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from multiple people and interact with the public and other staff.
Candidate will be expected to climb ladders of various heights, use a variety of hand and power tools and perform heavy physical labor.
Exposure to wet and humid conditions, fumes, chemicals and dust are to be expected.
Exposure to the external environment may bring the candidate/employee into contact with inclement weather.
