**Location**

+ **Duties**

This position is in the International Bureau's Office of the Bureau Chief. As a Telecommunications Support Specialist, the incumbent works closely with the Bureau Chief, Deputy Bureau Chief, Chief of Staff and Senior FCC Officials participating in international conferences and meetings and participates in the Bureaus efforts to obtain information relative to the telecommunications developments in the United States, as well as in foreign countries.

Incumbent arranges meetings and conferences for the Bureau/Deputy Chief and Chief of Staff, updates and maintains databases, conducts research, evaluates information and assists in the development of special narratives, statistical reports and graphic presentations, also assist with preparation and/or draft of letters, memoranda, briefing papers and/or summaries. Performs other duties as assigned.

** Qualifications**

Applicants must meet eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

**GS-09**

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 in the Federal service. For this position, specialized experience includes the following:

1. Experience interpreting and communicating a wide variety of complex international telecommunication issues, rules and regulations in accordance with the Communications Act of 1934, as amended. 2. Experience researching and assisting with the preparation of a variety of written responses, such as letters, memoranda, briefing summaries, narratives and statistical reports. 3. Experience responding verbally to inquiries and forwarding the information to the appropriate staff member for response. 4. Experience providing information and answering inquiries relative to the activities and objectives of the Commission. 5. Experience arranging for agenda and circulate items to be distributed properly to the Chairman's Office for preliminary authority to distribute to Commissioners and the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) for edits and/or comments.

OR

Applicants may substitute a degree for experience at the GS-9 level. Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in an accredited college or university, or a J.D. OR L.L.B. Such education must demonstrate the skills needed to do the work and be related.

Applicants may qualify based on a combination of education and experience.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
