NCS is looking for a detail oriented, quick learner with a positive attitude, resiliency, integrity, and strong task management and organization skills. The Associate Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Development Team in the successful management and completion of commercial solar projects by ensuring that milestones and deliverables are met through the life of the project. They should be able to keep track of multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development and construction. This position reports to the Program Manager. It is expected that you eventually move into the Project Management role and lead multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a member of a cross-functioning team to design and install commercial solar projects in Washington, D.C. and immediate surrounding areas
  • Accompany supervisor(s) on site visits to plan interconnection and design requirements for projects. Maintain detailed notes and be able to speak about the design to company members and clients.
  • Interface with clients at the behest of Project Managers via email or virtual meetings.
  • Ensure projects meet their milestone goals and deadlines by assisting Project Managers in forecasting near and far term tasks for multiple projects.
  • Feel comfortable engaging with supervisors and Project Managers in a respectful and curious way to: advocate for continual learning by asking questions and seeking support, and facilitate project progression by taking ownership over timelines and next steps.
  • Assist Project Manager with database management and administrative details.
  • Coordinate site visits for surveys and roof condition analysis with client.
  • Track and manage project budgets.
  • Draft essential projects documents such as: feasibility reports, notice of final designs, scopes of work, and flip the switch packages.
  • Schedule equipment rentals and deliveries for solar mobilization.
  • Register finished projects for SRECs.
  • Ability to work in the NCS Office 1 or 2 times per week as required by the team
  • Take on one-to-two special projects outside of typical solar project installation that will assist the Development Team in meeting their goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to coordinate with a team and problem solve with others.
  • Excellent record keeping and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and eager to learn
  • Growth-minded individual who seeks solutions and understanding in the face of problems and roadblocks.
  • Strong people skills and good oral and written communication
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record and ability to drive to project sites within DC and surrounding areas.
  • Must be able to legally work in the U.S. and pass a background check
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Previous experience in solar project management and/or construction operations
  • Familiarity with solar policy and regulations
  • Experience with a CRM database
  • NABCEP PV Associate or Installation Professional Certification
