POSITION SUMMARY
The AOI Operator will primarily be responsible for reviewing AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT component placement and solder joint defects.

- Examine circuit boards to detect defects such as shorts, excess or missing solder, scratches, cracks and placement of components
- Perform automated and visual inspection of SMT component as required.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and calibration.
- Maintain adherence to internal quality standards by approving material at in-process inspection for all products
- Verify conformance to specified dimensions
- Train personnel on automated inspection equipment as needed
Qualifications
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- 1-3 years' experience operating an AOI machine in a fast paced environment preferred
- Experience of inspecting SMT PCBs
- Mechanically minded
- Excellent computer skills
- Quality control and part identification experience
- Must exhibit knowledge and/or skill in operating equipment used in the area.
- Soldering experience toward IPC-A-610 standards is an asset.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
- Must be able to read, understand and interpret written and/or verbal instructions and have good communication skills in English.
- Ability to deal with changing priorities on a daily basis.
- Prefer at least 1 year experience in an electronics assembly environment.
