Job description
Cleveland-Cliffs Columbus Coatings has current openings (5 positions) for an entry-level steel production role. This opportunity is ideal for anyone looking to get started in the steel-making industry.
Summary of Responsibilities:
This is a general production position; therefore, responsibilities will vary. Qualified applicants must be able to perform any and all tasks assigned and must be able to lift 50 pounds. These tasks typically involve physical labor, standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting, as needed. Candidates will also be expected to operate machinery.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED.
A valid driver's license.
History of working in an industrial environment (prefer 3 or more years) or Military Service Equivalent.
Mechanical/Electrical Aptitude or abilities (preferred).
Candidates must be willing to perform required job functions in areas 20 feet above ground level.
Due to the nature of the operations, the facility is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Candidates are required to be willing to work any shift, any day of the week including nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are typically 8 hours a day and may include overtime.
Qualified candidates are expected to successfully pass the following pre-employment requirements:

Urine Analysis and Hair Sample Drug ScreeningThe drug detection period for hair samples covers 90-120 days.

Compensation for this position starts at $24.14 per hour with the opportunity for a higher hourly rate based upon training qualifications earned.
