Our client is seeking a compassionate 1-on-1 Dedicated Aide to join one of their private special education institutions in the Northern Virginia area. Our client has a unique approach to special education where children are provided a place of relationship and belonging, where students can be accepted and treated with compassion and respect.
As a 1-on-1 Dedicated Aide, you will be responsible for developing and implementing instructional practices to support students' Individualized Education Programs. In collaboration with parents and other team members, you will promote a collaborative relationship with school staff that fosters inclusive practices
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Instruct students in all areas specified by the teacher and develop, implement, and monitor individualized Education Programs.
*Plan, integrate, and utilize technology for classroom instruction.
*Encourage and motivate students while establishing a continuous feedback loop for all learning and behavioral activities.
*Participate in the development and implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans.
*Attend staff development and special education committee meetings as required.
*Compile and maintain the special education component of Student Education Records as outlined in the Special Education Manual.
*Assists in assigned classrooms with individual, small and large group instruction as directed by and coordinated with teacher.
*Perform other duties within the limits of special education regulation as assigned by the Director of Education and Director of Related Services.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
*High school diploma, required.
*Bilingual (Spanish/English), preferred.
*Experience in special needs school environment, preferred.
