Job Summary

Horizontal directional drill operator with experience operating Ditch Witch or Vermeer drills will support the team in the safest manner possible while delivering a high-quality product to our customers.

Job Duties:
Operate the horizontal drill efficiently and effectively.
Assist in mixing mud and potholing utilities.
Working on communications equipment and projects. May include installing, testing, and repairing structures and equipment.
Takes direction from crew Foreman ensuring safety and quality standards are met while adhering to project budgets and timeline.
Review documentation with Foreman to prepare for the build, assemble the necessary materials, and determine the required installation methods.
Help supervise the tracking of all on-site inventory and materials.
Perform inspections, inventories, and audits as needed.
Collect, review, and submit all on-site closeout documentation per the deliverable timelines.
Assist training crew members on proper safety/quality standards.
Maintain issued equipment and report deficiencies as needed.

Experience and Education:
2+ years experience operating horizontal drills is a must.
2+ years experience with rock drilling to include either inner rod or air hammer is preferred.
Knowledge of ground conditions to mix mud daily.
2-4 years Telecommunications experience High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education 21 years of age minimum requirement OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR preferred as well
CDL is a plus. Competencies/ Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills and team player attitude.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to the set schedule. Highly organized and detail oriented.
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions, if working outside.
