Job Description
DESCRIPTION: JMA Solutions has an opportunity available for a full-time Technical Writer supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Technical Writer will be part of the team responsible for reviewing, writing and editing documentation for the FAA. This position is located in Washington, DC.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide editorial support
Interpret and apply established guidance, including Section 508 compliance
Receive, review, track and distribute correspondence
Track correspondence and actions throughout the lifecycle using document control software
Support document development and production including reports and publications (I.e., Reports to Congress, Orders, Advisory Circulars (ACs), and other related aviation guidance, etc.) using various software including the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access);
Provide editorial support for various forms of correspondence, reports, briefing materials and other documents.
Proofread and provide edits including reviewing documentation for clarity, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and consistency with comparable documents and established templates
Maintain office files, records and logs showing the status of actions and correspondence. Ensure that routed document packages include all required document and that all documents are signed, approved and/or reviewed. Coordinate as directed with Regional Offices and other parts of the FAA
Demonstrate knowledge of the office's functions to be able to coordinate the work of the office with the work of the other offices, such as AGC, AGI, and Office of Policy, APL, etc.
Provide logistics support (i.e., meetings, teleconferences, etc.) and phone management to include answering phones and addressing general inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field with at least five years of experience.
SALARY: $80,000 - $95,000 depending on experience and education levels. JMA offers a full benefits package including vision, health, dental, life insurance, as well as a 401k match.
