CGH Technologies, Inc. (CGH) is a business solutions firm, specializing in Data Management, Software Engineering, and Business Intelligence solutions. Located within the Washington corridor, CGH has worked successfully with Government, Commercial and International sectors, providing management consulting, software development and facilities/infrastructure design, maintenance and program management support of large, complex operational environments and facilities security maintenance. CGH has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join the CGH Team.
Purpose:
To support the Accounting/Finance department with the day to day activities
Responsibilities:
Data Entry in to the Electronic Timesheet System (ETS) and payroll system
Set-up and maintain supplier, vendor, employee and consultant files in the accounting and ETS systems
Process Accounts Payable invoices and related disbursements
Record payroll journal entries including expense and liability account transactions
Perform bank account reconciliations of daily cash receipts
Generate timely and accurate month-end close financial data
Process semi-monthly timesheets/payroll in the payroll system
Prepare & enter General Ledger and Journal entries
Invoice for projects
Reconciliation of consultant invoices
Assist w/creating charge codes/labor codes
Assist HR and create rate sheets for reviews
Electronic Filing
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Number of Years Experience Required:
6+ years of experience in a similar role in a corporate position with a government contractor.
5+ years G/L accounting experience in a corporate position with a government contractor.
Minimum Education and Certifications Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
Technical Skills Required:
Computer Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with accounting systems such as Deltek, SYMPAQ
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
U.S. Citizen or person with a valid U.S. Work Visa who has lived in the U.S. for three or more years.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities.
Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and assignments and ability to meet deadlines.
Aptitude for working autonomously and prioritizing workload to reach corporate accounting/finance deadlines.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear and use a computer/keyboard/mouse for several hours on a daily basis.
May require occasional light lifting of up to 10 pounds.
