NCS is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team and assist with the company's accounting and financial reporting operations. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will support the Accounting team by performing and coordinating accounting duties within the Company's portfolio of operating assets. The Staff Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with close processes, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. The Staff Accountant will also be assisting the Senior Accountant as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes. To be successful as Staff Accountant, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An outstanding Staff Accountant should also have strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes
Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets
Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury
Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Meeting processing and reporting deadlines
Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits
Ensuring compliance with GAAP
Assisting the accounting manager as needed
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
1-2 years of accounting experience preferred
Working knowledge of GAAP
Working knowledge of with Microsoft Excel & Word
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
Good problem-solving and time management skills
Highly organized and detail oriented
Full-time availability
Vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19
Must be able to legally work in the U.S.
Preferred Experience:
1-2 years of accounting experience
Working knowledge of GAAP
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of cash and accrual and multi-entity accounting
