Introduction\rGRADE13\rLOCATION OF POSITIONMDH Dorchester County Health Department\r3 Cedar Street\rCambridge, MD 21613\rMain Purpose of JobThe main purpose of this full-time contractual position will be to coordinate intensive home visiting for families through the Healthy Families Dorchester Program. Ongoing home visits focus on parenting and child development activities. This position will also maintain liaison and cooperative relationships with a variety of public and private agencies to negotiate further provision of services.\r\r\rThis position will require the ability to establish trusting relationships and acceptance of individual differences.\r\r\rBilingual (English/Spanish) applicants are encouraged to apply.\rMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \rExperience: One year of administrative staff or professional work in a health care setting. \rNotes: \r1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience. \r2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. \rDESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSThe desired candidate should possess:\r\r\r

Bilingual (English/Spanish)\r

Experience working with children & families\r

The ability to establish trusting relationships\r

Experience working with culturally diverse families\r

Knowledge of and/or experience with infant & child development\r

Experience in or willing to engage in building reflective capacity\r

The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.\rBENEFITS\r\rContractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\rLeave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r\r\rFURTHER INSTRUCTIONSOnline applications are highly recommended.
