Classification Title:Scientific Laboratory ManagerJob Description:UF Health: PHRC Core Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing andperforming specialized testing in the areas of point-of-care, chemistry, immunology,urinalysis, hematology, coagulation, proteins and biomarkers, as well as signal linearityand linear and logistic regressionThis position will assume administrative duties in supervising operations andpersonnel across UF Health: PHRC center and remote sitesPerform and supervise laboratory testing of human biological samples for researchpurposes using various methodologiesResponsible for all routine quality assurance activities associated with theperformance of laboratory and point-of-care testing; including reporting results and allquality control documentationActively oversee the interfacing of automated instrumentation with the laboratoryinformation system (LIS); involved in LIS-associated tasks such as test builds anddictionary maintenanceData validation, manipulation, and exporting in ExcelExperience in applying supervised and unsupervised learning techniques such assignal linearity; share/bring in new innovations to labThis position is responsible for the performance, quality, and accuracy of the resultsreported; maintenance of instrumentation, including scheduled, preventive, andtroubleshooting, as needed as well as maintenance of laboratory and laboratoryequipment; preparation of standards, calibrators, and reagents; and adherence to thelaboratory's quality management program, including quality assurance activitiesPurchase supplies, maintain instruments and equipment, and comply with alllaboratory policies and proceduresDirecting activities related to dispatching, routing, tracking, and storing of specimens tocreate a system that responds quickly to center needs and runs efficientlyParticipate, with other technologists, in development of tests as defined by thelaboratory directorKeeps laboratory procedure manuals up to date and trains junior staffResponsible for keeping the UF Health: PHRC lab in a continual state of high-qualityreadiness per CAP, AHCA and CLIA requirements$60,500 - $96,600Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.Preferred Qualifications:Working in healthcare or academic research environmentsCandidate with a background in working with older adults is preferredKnowledge with working and analyzing blood-based biomarkers is preferredExperience including cognitive health assessments such as AP 42|40, APOE preferredPreferred Degree Areas: Gerontology, neuropsychology, psychology, hematology,microbiology or other similar areaPrefer candidate who is phlebotomy certified or willing to obtain certificationSpecial Instructions to Applicants:
