Description

Performs routine work scorekeeping for youth and adult sports leagues, tournaments, special events, and other related work as required.

  • Understand and operate score clocks at the various game locations.
  • Keep game score in official score book.
  • Assist with game set up/tear down at game locations.
  • Assist with maintaining facility cleanliness between games.
  • Assist with any special event needs.
  • Accurately fill out incident/accident report forms.
  • Understand league rules as they apply to each individual age group or sport.
  • Assist with enforcing league and facility rules.
  • Report any problems/disturbances to Facility Attendant and immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain positive communication with the public.
  • Be punctual and prepared to begin shift as scheduled.
  • Serve as a liaison between Frederick County Parks and Recreation and the public.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as required.

Typical Qualifications

  • General knowledge of a variety of sports;
  • Efficient communication (oral and writing) skills;
  • Reliable and flexible in schedule;
  • Commitment to equality and good sportsmanship;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and the public;
  • Minimum age of 15 years old at the time of application.

Supplemental Information

Physical Demands:
Regular physical effort including but not limited to walking, writing, sitting, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting, and pushing. Working and lifting with equipment and materials up to 20 pounds is common. Ability to work nights and weekends.
