Job description

Overview:

GovCIO is currently hiring a Software Test Engineer to support our clients contract needs. This position is located in Washington, DC and will be a hybrid remote position.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing test scripts, test scenarios, test methodology, and document for execution.
  • Reviewing and critiquing test scripts developed by contracting staff and suggesting improvements.
  • Supporting product development in the testing phase in coordination with the project teams, including contracting staff and other independent testing and verification teams.
  • Supporting the validation and acceptance phase of the project by providing insight and overview of the testing performed and results.
  • Verifying the integrity of the systems and software application under test before releasing to production to avoid impacts associated with undetected defects.
  • Documenting test results, and compiling results into a consolidated report for management, clients, and applications staff, performing regression or other analyses, and presenting in a project meeting.
  • Ensuring requirements validation and supporting all levels of testing, including functional, system and exploratory, compliance, security, regression, performance and load/stress testing.
  • Processes orders, prepares correspondence, and fulfills customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Responsible for researching and resolving complaints to ensure customer retention and satisfaction
  • High degree of proficiency in computer skills required
  • Interpersonal and professional oral and written communication skills required.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager with limited supervision
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • May direct work of lower level employees
Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Technical or Business field plus equivalent experience with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in the Testing/QA/QE field with a passion for quality
  • 3+ year experience working in an Agile environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate and articulate to stakeholders and management across multiple business functions
  • Experience with ETL data testing
  • Experience with Reports / Dashboards testing, (i.e. Business Objects, Tablueau, or similar tools)
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in Database testing
  • Exposure to technologies Tableau or similar tools
  • Extremely detail oriented with a self-starter personality
  • Proven history of successfully coordinating and executing all aspects of testing efforts from project inception to post launch
  • Ability to understand business needs and translate them into test cases and test scenarios
  • High degree of proficiency in computer skills required
  • Expertise in various forms of software testing: functional and non-functional testing Integration, System, Regression, and End to End testing
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban) and frequent release cycles is a must
  • Clearance Required: Must be able to acquire AOUSC Public Trust

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Agile Scrum Master certification
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium
  • Experience with Atlassian Tools (JIRA & Confluence) is preferred

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an at-will position and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range: USD $100,000.00 - USD $104,000.00 /Yr.
