Discovery Station Early Head Start is a free, comprehensive child development program serving pregnant women, infants, and toddlers under the age of 3. Discovery Station Early Head Start (EHS), an MSDE-accredited child development center, helps parents successfully assume the role as their child s first, and most important, teacher. We help to foster healthy attachments between parent and child, and partner with families to prepare children socially, emotionally, and developmentally for school.

This position will supervise and lead a team of Family Support Workers in promoting family engagement and children s school readiness among families with young children.

Summary:

• Ensure that the program meets Head Start Performance Standards and implements best practices, documenting family outcomes, school readiness goals and service delivery.
• Utilize the PROMIS data management system and Teaching Strategies GOLD.
• Support families in accessing community resources and transitioning into other early childhood programs when children reach age 3.

• Bachelor s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Sciences, Human Development or related field.
• Supervision experience is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with high risk and culturally diverse families to support their children s school readiness and/or family self-sufficiency.
• Leadership, flexibility, communication, attention to details, computer literacy and team building skills are essential.
• Must have reliable transportation for work purposes and a valid driver s license.
• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
