Overview of the Role:
The Director of Solution Engineering will lead a newly formed team of Solution Engineers dedicated to providing technical and subject matter expertise in the pursuit of sales opportunities in the Commercial Automotive, Utilities and Energy industries. This leader will be responsible for developing their team, encouraging a growth mindset, and openly recognizing success, all aimed at creating a collaborative, team-based culture and promoting a premier employee experience.

The successful candidate will be a qualified leader with the ability to build impactful teams, implement new business processes and establish strong partnerships with sales leaders. They must have experience leading teams of Solution Engineers in organizations with a broad portfolio of products.

Responsibilities:

  • Be proficient in client engagement and build strong relationships
  • Be able to engage with C-Level customers and prospects, sharing the power of Salesforce, and leaning into the Industry approach
  • Mentor their team to develop their careers and inspire them to do their best work
  • Establish coverage strategy and operational cadences for this new org.
  • Participate in strategic deals and support team members as needed to grow the business.
  • Drive critical initiatives and programs across Solution Engineering to actively support the career development and advancement of team members.
  • Elevate the Salesforce brand across the region; thoughtfully storytelling our GTM of AI + Data + CRM.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong business and technology savvy. You understand the social, economic and technology trends that are shaping our lives, and you can succinctly articulate a vision for how Salesforce can make a meaningful and highly differentiated contribution to the success of our customers
  • Extensive experience and a proven record of selling complex enterprise technology solutions to both business and technology leaders
  • Exceptional executive presence and are comfortable engaging at all levels within a customer s organisation
  • Significant experience leading Solution Engineering teams, with particular focus on GTM strategies and operational excellence.
  • Experience and perspective across all segments of the GTM including our largest enterprise accounts down to our emerging small business accounts
  • A proven track record of success by partnering with Sales leaders to achieve revenue objectives.
  • Ideally the candidate will possess a depth of knowledge in Salesforce s market leading technologies
  • Good analytical capabilities, be organized and able to work many tasks at the same time.
  • Support the Solution Engineering team by providing guidance on sales strategies, approaches to solve specific problems, as well as a represent their team's needs to executive staff.
  • Able to communicate equally with internal resources such as Sales Management, Product Marketing, Development, and Customer Success to gain commitment and support.
  • Good fundamental sales skills (Value and Solution Selling) and advanced leadership skills

  • Is a trusted advisor to the customers and colleagues
  • Prior experience working within the Software space
  • Industry experience in Automotive, Utilities or Energy is a strong plus.

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, Salesforce will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $205,940 to $275,450. For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $187,180 to $250,390. For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $205,940 to $275,450. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
