Invenia Group is working with a rapidly expanding specialist manufacturer of scientific instrumentation to hire a Director of Global Logistics.The company manufactures specialist proteomic instrumentation, kits and services used across a wide range of immunology applications. Their customers include pharma, biopharma, biotech, academia and CROs.The company prides itself on having a great market reputation for the quality and reliability of its products and services.
Role responsibilities:
This role will be responsible for implementing end-to-end shipping operations planning worldwide, focusing on N. America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.The role will have one direct report and future scope to grow a team. It will be working closely with different departments including Sales, Finance, Operations, and Quality & Regulatory etc.
Other responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and manage global logistics for shipping and delivery as well as end-user supply chain network design. Establish metrics/goals to help achieve this.
  • Ensure goods are transported and delivered promptly
  • Manage importation and customs clearance process into regions outside the US
  • Manage the specialist delivery networks used by the company and lead contracting and price negotiations with these partners.
  • Be responsible for regulatory affairs management of shipped products
  • Keep up to date on regulatory requirements in the industry
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, focusing on urgent business needs while keeping in mind long-term organisation strategy and growth plans.
  • Lead the budgeting and strategic planning process for the global supply chain operations.
  • Develop contingent plans in case of disruptions that could happen to the global supply chain.

    What we are looking for:
    We are looking for someone educated to a Degree level or higher, as well as the following:

    • 10 years + of experience managing global supply chains including in EU, US and APAC territories
    • Have extensive knowledge of global shipping logistics and services for biological materials
    • Have extensive knowledge of contracts, negotiation, and vendor management
